SAB-profiel places great emphasis on quality, the environment, and the sustainable origin of materials. As a result, SAB has held certifications in ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment), and BES 6001 (responsible sourcing) for many years.
This means that in addition to our own controls, our locations, products, and processes are regularly audited by independent external parties (such as TÜV Nederland) to maintain these certificates. In the past months of 2023 and 2024, we have had inspections for all three certificates, all of which were successfully renewed.
Below are the relevant certifications from SAB that we positively renewed in 2023/2024.
BES 6001
BES 6001 is a certification methodology developed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in England, specifically aimed at the substantiated origin of materials (responsible sourcing). For manufacturers of construction products, this is the standard norm that assesses sustainability. It involves the company’s own processes such as procurement and production, as well as the sustainability of the supply chain. This is somewhat comparable to the more well-known FSC for wood.
The BES 6001 standard (and ISO 14001) also provides a basis for sustainability calculations of buildings, such as BREEAM. More and more clients and companies are opting for a sustainable building in new construction projects, for example, with a BREEAM certificate. Therefore, it is important to demonstrate that the construction products used in the building are sustainable. BES 6001 aids in achieving BREEAM points.

ISO 9001
The ISO 9001 standard sets requirements for an organization’s quality management system. This internationally recognized standard ensures that agreements with customers are complied with according to specified specifications and that legal requirements are met. Having an ISO 9001 certificate means that we effectively and satisfactorily meet the requirements of this standard and are externally audited by TÜV Nederland.

ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is a standard for environmental management systems. Like ISO 9001, this standard was developed by the International Organization for Standardization. Based on the environmental management system derived from ISO 14001, environmental risks can be managed and reduced. The environmental risk analysis is one of the most important components of this standard. This ensures that we produce as environmentally friendly as possible.
Our two Dutch locations in IJsselstein (profiles/liner trays) and Geldermalsen (sandwich panels) are ISO 14001 certified, which means we operate according to an environmental plan, manage the environmental risks associated with our products and processes, and meet legal requirements.
