Acoustics
If additional requirements are imposed on the acoustics of a building, the profiled roof and facade sheets and structural liner rays can be provided with a perforation pattern. You can of course also order perforation if you are mainly concerned with the aesthetic properties. If you opt for perforation, keep in mind that the permissible load and deflection will change. Many SAB perforated sheets are provided with an embossing to roll away perforation stresses in the material.
With perforated material it is important that the products are transported dry and stored correctly on the construction site. If water remains in the perforation due to rain or condensation, corrosion will occur. Especially with thicker material, the zinc layer is not sufficient for sufficient cathodic protection. The corrosion is often superficial, easy to clean and the process will stop after installation. However, this often leads to questions from clients. So also bear this in mind if you have organised your own transport from the factory.
Perforation
SAB supplies two standard perforated patterns: Perfo 3 and Perfo 4 (perforation of 23,4% and 11,7%). For larger quantities, however, SAB can offer and supply some conceivable perforation pattern.
Due to tension in the upstanding sides, SAB recommends using the deep decking profiles SAB 110R/1000 to SAB 200R/840 with perforation pattern (L-B) from 0.88 mm.
SAB advises in connection with the fasteners and the static properties to allow deep deck roof profiles to be perforated only in the body. Acoustically, the difference with full perforation is small. Other perforation options on request.
