Take-back service

When roofs or façades made with SAB-profiel sheets or sandwich panels are demolished or replaced, part of the material is reused and the remainder recycled. Steel has been recycled this way for years, with virtually no loss. Steel can even be upcycled, meaning the quality of the recycled steel is higher than the original.
For sandwich panels, there are now many responsible recycling solutions available.

SAB-profiel can also take full responsibility for reuse or recycling through a take-back service.

What is the Take-back service?

  • Profile sheets and sandwich panels can be taken back by SAB-profiel.
  • The take-back service is valid from 20 years up to 40 years after the delivery date.
  • The take-back service applies exclusively to SAB-profiel products.
  • A request for take-back must be submitted in writing by the building owner at least 12 months in advance.
  • If the products show only normal signs of use and, in our professional opinion (including an on-site inspection if necessary), are suitable for reuse or recycling, we will provide the building owner with a written offer. If the building owner accepts the offer within the specified period, the take-back service will be carried out at the end of that offer period.
  • The compensation depends on several factors that cannot currently be determined, including the condition of the products, their reusability at the time of take-back, developments in costs, and the availability of recycling capacity.
  • The building owner is responsible for the professional dismantling and delivery of the products to a location designated by us. Our guidelines regarding dismantling, storage, packaging, and transportation must be followed.
