Good cooperation between Cladding Partners and SAB-profiel takes shape in AG Logistics’ sustainable warehouse

t’s new, it’s sustainable and, above all, it’s huge: the newly completed warehouse of AG Logistics in Tiel. No less than 35,000 square metres of warehouse space, 300 square metres of office space, a height of 15 metres and equipped with 50 docks. It is one of several warehouses in the Netherlands operated by AG Logistics, a company providing a wide range of services. The architecture of the building stands out. Commissioned by assembly company Cladding Partners, SAB-profiel produced and supplied the profiles for the roof and façade as well as the sandwich panels for the façade. “The cooperation with SAB-profiel is good,” says project manager Richard Hessels.ls.

Cladding Partners specialises in roofing and façade cladding for commercial buildings. For AG Logistics’ new warehouse, Cladding Partners delivered the complete roof and façade envelope, including engineering and installation. The number of distribution centres has grown quickly, especially over the past five years. “I think we always have at least one such project underway,” says Hessels. The real eye-catcher of the new warehouse is the office section, which protrudes far beyond the ground floor. “You often see these kinds of projects with an office attached that is designed just a bit more strikingly.”

One of our largest suppliers

SAB-profiel made a major contribution to the project: 35,360 m² of Warmdakplaat SAB (FA) 135R/930 in 9002 for the roof and 11,662 m² of sandwich panels: SAB WB 100.1000 and SAB WB 140.1000 in the Colorcoat® SDP 50 colours 7011, 7016 and 7042. In addition, some Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® in Goosewing Grey was used for the façade. The special feature of the sandwich panels is that they are “FM Approved”, tested for their performance under wind, hail and fire. This certification means that SAB-profiel’s panels meet the highest standards in the market.

“How do you solve things together?”

SAB-profiel is “one of our biggest suppliers,” says Richard. “Why? The quality is good. Of course, price also plays a role. And in general, the collaboration runs smoothly. Look, with every supplier something comes up once in a while. But in the end, it’s about how you solve things together.” For the AG Logistics project as well, Cladding Partners could rely on this cooperative approach. “One of the sandwich panel colours, RAL 7011 iron grey, had a certain lead time. But it worked out well.”

The project was delivered in June. The sustainable building has a BREEAM certification and is one of the first fully self-sufficient ‘energy hubs’ in the Netherlands.
