Loading a case of organising and planning

In this part of the website we have published general information and several SAB documents (as pdf) for you concerning with (safe) loading at SAB-profiel IJsselstein and Geldermalsen. You can easily download the information and give it to the driver of your loading truck.

Loading in IJsselstein

In IJsselstein, loading takes place on workdays between 6:00 and 16:00 hours. In the case of excessive work pressure or under extraordinary circumstances, it is also possible to extend the loading hours into the evening. The driver must check in at the transport desk with the SAB order numbers.

All products are delivered ex-factory as packages in wooden shuttering, on wooden pallets, or wrapped in foil. The packaging offers adequate protection if handled correctly. Our products, especially the galvanized, non-lacquered and perforated designs must be transported in closed trucks to prevent ‘white rust’ from occurring. Vehicles with pneumatic suspension are required for the transport of linertrays. In the case of the use of linertrays, the transporter must always secure the cargo with the use of stanchions alongside the cargo. The instructions for the number of packages in a stack of linertrays and for profiled metal sheets can be downloaded via the tab, ‘Loading trailers in IJsselstein’, at the bottom of the page.

The cargo is loaded with the use of overhead cranes. We are unable to load with forklift trucks. This means that it must be possible to open the trailer from the top. SAB personnel are not authorized to mount the trailers. The driver will be deemed to have positioned the packages properly and to have removed the hoisting belts. To ensure the driver’s safety, it is obligatory to open the side panels of the tautliners completely.

If you would prefer a specific load sequence, we request that you announce this with your order and also inform your driver of the applicable sequence. SAB is ultimately responsible for determining the stability of the stacks.

It is possible to load Open Top containers. Please ask your salesperson about the conditions.

For export and seaworthy transport, there are special packaging requirements for the packages (at an additional cost).

Loading in Geldermalsen

In Geldermalsen, loading takes place on workdays between 7:30 and 15:30 hours. In the case of excessive work pressure or under extraordinary circumstances, it is also possible to extend the loading hours into the evening. The driver must check in at the transport desk with the SAB order numbers.

All products are delivered ex-factory as packages on EPS pallets and wrapped in foil. The packaging offers adequate protection if handled correctly. Vehicles with pneumatic suspension are required for the transport of sandwich panels. SAB-profiel recommends that sandwich panel packages be stacked to a maximum height of two packages to prevent deformation during transport. The instructions for the number of packages in a stack of panesl can be downloaded via ‘SAB Instruction load securing’, at this page.

The cargo is loaded from the side with the use of a forklift truck or a side loader. Panels longer than 12 meters are only loaded on open cars due to the risk of damage.
