The Bijsterhuizen Business Park in Wijchen near Nijmegen (NL) now has another landmark. The Briggs & Stratton distribution centre that was completed this summer immediately attracts the attention, due to its red details and clean lines. The decorative details with red areas at the corners of the distribution centre display the professionalism of Cladding Partners. The angularly cut trapezium-shaped profiles are arranged alternatively in a chessboard pattern in different orientations.
The OV Terminal Breda won the jury prize, which was awarded by the Dutch Architects association (Branchevereniging voor Nederlandse Architectenbureaus - BNA). This, mainly brick-built, building includes subtle light-blue elements, some of which were supplied by SAB®. They are the light-blue SAB 18/988 sinusoidal panels, that are clearly visible in the ceiling of the parking garage on the roof of the building. In total, SAB supplied almost 4,700 m2 of sinusoidal profiles in the special Colorcoat Prisma® Duck Egg Blue.
How do architects use steel profile and panels? On Friday 19 May, the Dutch architects association (Branchevereniging voor Nederlandse Architectenbureaus - BNA) announced the building that had won the best building of the year award, the architecture award. The buildings submitted for the award once more included those in which steel profile and panels play a significant role. These buildings give an impression of the way in which the products are currently being used. These applications are very varied, ranging from the largest to the smallest of buildings and from an iconic element to an invisible structural member.
Recently, the European Association for Panels and Profiles (PPA-Europe) has updated the European Quality regulations for sandwich panels and profiles (EPAQ quality regulations).
